Tips for Corporate Worship
We highly encourage parents to bring their children to the corporate worship service. There is immense value in having your child participate in service with you. Here are some practical tips to help you and your child worship together with the body:
Discuss the different elements of the service with your child beforehand. Explain what they will see and why these elements are important. It may be helpful to establish your expectations before bringing your child into the service for the first time.
Remember, your children are observing you. Your own perspective of the service will influence how your child perceives it.
Motivate your children to sing along with the music. Moreover, you can encourage your child to take notes by providing them with a journal or paper. For younger children, they can draw a picture that represents what they have heard. As your children grow older, you may ask them to jot down words they hear repeatedly or any questions they have. Feel free to utilize the provided Kids Sermon Notes.
Engage in conversations with your child about what they saw and heard during the corporate worship service. This time allows for numerous opportunities to have gospel-centered discussions with your children.
The OTC community is grateful to have your child in corporate worship and fully supports your efforts as parents to teach them. We understand the challenges of short attention spans, active boys, and talkative girls. Children are truly a gift from the Lord, and their presence in the service blesses and encourages us.
