OTC Kids

What We Do

We teach the gospel in an engaging, age-appropriate way with a weekly Bible story, worship songs, and group activities to reinforce the lesson.  We use The Gospel Project curriculum which teaches the Bible as one unified story that tells us about God’s plan to save people from their sin by sending His Son Jesus to rescue us.  Check out the Old Town Church app for overviews of what we are learning each week in OTC Kids.

The Yellow & Green Rooms: Infants & Toddlers (1-2-year-olds)

We show children the love of God by providing a welcoming and safe environment for them to begin to learn about Jesus.  Each week children will hear a short version of our Bible story followed by Gospel Gems – age appropriate truths that will start to plant gospel seeds in young minds.  We reinforce these truths through music and play.

The Orange Room: Preschool (2 years – 4K)

We show children the love of God by interacting with them on their level.   We teach God’s Word in an interactive and engaging way using age-appropriate language and hands-on activities and play.  Each week children hear a gospel-centered Bible Story that includes a key passage from Scripture and a Big Picture Question that reinforces the truth they learned from the lesson.  Children worship together through song and engage in small group activities that also reinforce the truths they’ve learned that week.

The Blue & Red Rooms: Elementary (K-5th grades )

We show kids who God is by loving them well by building authentic relationships with each child.  We teach them God’s Word in an interactive and engaging way and create a safe place for kids to express their faith and feel comfortable asking questions.  Each week children hear a gospel-centered Bible Story that includes a key passage from Scripture and a Big Picture Question that reinforces the truth they learned from the lesson.  Children spend time discussing what they’ve learned and how it applies to their lives.  Children also worship together through song and engage in small group activities that also reinforce the truths they’ve learned that week.

What to Expect

Upon arriving, look for the OTC Kids logo on the back wall of our lobby, or ask a Connections team member in a blue shirt for assistance.  At Check-In, one of our volunteers will help you register your child, and you will receive a numbered security tag. We highly value the safety and security of the children in our care, therefore your security tag is needed to pick up your child following the worship service and ensures that children are only dismissed to the adult who checked them in.  From Check-In you will take your child to their assigned classroom and have the opportunity to check out our OTC Kids environments and meet those who will be serving your child.  After service, you will pick your child up from their classroom by giving an OTC Kids volunteer your security tag.

Safety and Health

  • Volunteers: We require all of our volunteers to submit a background check, submit an application, and attend training.  They love Jesus and are looking forward to serving you and your family.
  • Health Standards: Children must be free from fever or symptoms of contagious disease for 24 hours. Let us know of any allergies or medical conditions your child may have.
  • Child Pick-Up: You must present your portion of the security tag before we release your child.
